Easy Diagonal Stripe Bracelet

Easy Diagonal Stripe Bracelet

Okay, today I am going to show you how to make this simple and pretty stripe bracelet. Some people call it the 'candy bar' or 'candy stripe' but it is simply known as the Diagonal Stripe. Let's Start!

  • Okay, first things first. Gather two pieces of string, each a different color and cut them to about 1 and a quarter meters. If you want, you can make it shorter. Tie a knot from about 2 inches from the top and tape it down to your work surface.

  • Next step: separate them into alternating groups. I chose orange and cream. The pattern or order you put the strings should be 1212.
  • Now, using the left-most string (orange), make a '4' shape on top of the white string next to it.

  •  Great! Now using the end of the orange thread in the '4' shape, lift the white up and put the orange string underneath.

  • Pull to make a knot and repeat one more time :) If you did it correctly, the orange string you tied the knot with will go 1 string to the right. (in the pic i was pulling the string)

  •  Okay. If you did it correctly the color pattern will be 2(1)21 now. With the orange string, which is the one in brackets, do 2 more knots onto the next white. We will call this knot 'the hitch'.

  • Repeat the process until your bracelet is finished! Yay! Tie a knot and you are done. If you want to 'decorate' it, get some string about 10 inches long, wrap it around the middle of the bracelet and tie a ribbon. Oh yes in the pictures, I actually made the bracelet fit exactly onto my friend's wrist because this bracelet is for her. Thank you for reading :)
